The Best MT4 Alternative: The All New Modulus M4 Forex Web Trading Platform

Familiar

Forex traders and brokers have been searching for a viable MT4 alternative for years, but alternative trading platforms all fell short, as MT4 users found them awkward and confusing.

The all new Modulus M4 trading platform feels familiar to MT4 users and offers numerous advanced features which MT4 does not provide, all while using just one code-base for all operating systems and devices!

Better

Based on our most advanced trading technologies, M4 has been re-designed from the ground up, specifically to meet the needs of today's traders who have previously preferred using MT4.

Modulus has been developing trading software for over twenty years. Many of the most popular trading platforms that used today have been developed on technology developed and provided by Modulus.

Thousands of traders provided the feedback which we integrated into the design of M4, which is efficient, intuitive, elegant and appealing.

Updated

While older trading platforms, such as MetaTrader 4 (MT4) will no longer be supported, Modulus M4 has been developed with the latest technologies and has been designed based on the requests of thousands of today's most active traders.

Modulus Professional Customization Services

Your Competitive Advantage

With M4 Forex Editin, you can choose to customize the source code in-house and deploy the software on your own hardware. Alternatively, you may choose to have Modulus customize M4 to your specifications, then deploy and maintain your servers for you.

Customization, setup, and integration can be quick and painless, thanks to our professional service teams located in five countries, spread across four time zones, including our headquarters in the United States.

Modulus is the only financial technology company in the world which provides optional commercial source code licensing, as source code is necessary for financial institutions, not only for continuity of operation and business valuation, but also for compliance.

Designed by Expert Traders

Modulus M4 is a retail forex trading platform. But, it's not just any retail platform.

In designing M4, we sought the guidance of several world renowned, expert traders and educators.

We asked the question, "How would you design your ideal trading platform, starting from a clean slate?"

The answers and guidance we received from the experts, as well as from our trading clients, helped us shape the all-new Modulus M4: the nextgen trading platform with a familiar feel.

Each edition, including Forex, Futures, Equities, Equity Options, and Binary Options (coming soon) has been designed for only one particular market --- because "one size fits all" does not apply to financial markets. For example, what works well for futures does not work for binary options.

In designing M4, we also received feedback from hundreds of traders during beta testing, which helped shape the final user interface into the most intuitive, elegant and user-friendly design imaginable. Also, M4 looks and functions the same across all web browsers and operating systems, including tablets.

Traders today require high-performance terminals which can be accessed from any device. Frequent updates ensure that M4 offers the greatest browser and device compatibility, and the fastest order execution and response times of any comparable trading platform on the market.

Modulus Chart Pattern Recognition

Optional Features

M4 offers tons of optional features, including pattern recognition, to identify Channels, Double Bottoms, Double Tops, Flags, Head & Shoulders, Pennants, Trend, Triangles, Triple Bottoms, Triple Tops, Wedges, and other patterns.

Optionally, unleash our proprietary social media sentiment indicators in M4 to provide your traders with unique and rare insights into the markets, normally only available to advanced quantitative traders.

Our optional white label trading education package can be integrated into M4, enabling your traders to learn how to trade and be more confident utilizing a live trading platform.

Also, the Modulus TradeScript scripting add-in provides back testing, expert advisors, alerts and auto trading, enabling traders to identify more opportunities.

White Label App Store

Allow trading system developers to market and sell their trading strategies, developed with TradeScript, in a secure and profitable way. Strategies can be provided as expert advisors or automated trading systems. The App Store comes complete with an in-app widget and payment gateway adapter, including a monthly bill pay system, and you can set the percentage which app developers earn, such as 50%, 60% or 70%.

Customize Everything

You can change the title, logo, colors, layout, data feed, back-end code, front-end code, add your own widgets, integrate with your sales funnel, tie into chat rooms and much more. There is literally nothing which cannot be customized!

Trader Tech Support

Modulus offers optional front-end support via ZenDesk, LiveChat and Skype to ensure your traders are happy. Several service options are available.

Just One Chance

You've got only one chance to impress your clients. A report from Compuware suggests that while 79% of consumers would retry a mobile app only once or twice if it failed to work the first time, only 16% would give it more than two attempts. Poor mobile trading app design is therefore likely to discourage your clients from using your app again.

One of the most common complaints were a lack of features (26%), frequent crashing (23%), and poor design (22%).

Data from PrisMetric shows that 55% of consumers of Gen Z (16-22 in age) and Gen Y (23-34) say poor user experience of a mobile app will prompt them not to buy the products/services of the app, which translates into lost clients for your brokerage.

This is exactly why M4 is full of great features, it does not crash, and it has been designed for a great user experience.

Flexibility

Mobile devices and tablets are great for reviewing account information, but traders prefer a full featured laptop or desktop application for serious trading. That's why M4 works everywhere.

A study by Entrepreneur magazine showed that most users perform their most important research and work on laptops, with large screens and keyboards more conducive for typing and controlling their applications. For reviewing content, they turn to their phones.

What's important to them is the ability to access their accounts wherever they go, open their laptops and trade when they can, and switch seamlessly to the same account on all their devices.

Today's traders are comfortable in front of any screen. Their apps should offer device flexibility to accommodate that, which is exactly why we designed M4 to run on any browser and on any tablet.

Partners

M4 can be customized and configured to work with almost any liquidity provider, hub, or bridge. The M4 server can be customized for you by Modulus based on your requirements. Our preferred liquidity providers include DIVISA Capital, Dukascopy, First Derivatives, GAIN Capital, GBE Brokers, LMAX, Saxo Bank, SGT Markets, Sucden Financial, TOP FX, Citibank, Morgan Stanley, HSBC, UBS, Credit Suisse, Barclays Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, CommerzbankThe Royal Bank of Scotland, and CFH Clearing.

Build vs. Buy

Are you paying for a subscription to a platform you don't really "own"? Are you worried there are critical software or connectivity problems you can't solve because you don't have the source code? What would happen if your trading platform provider went out of business or if their licensing server went offline?

Are you also worried about the associated risk, time, and money it takes to build a trading platform from scratch? You should be. The average trading platform takes over two years to develop.

M4 is a white-label trading platform that can be setup as turnkey service or as a customized solution. Full source code is an option. That means, full code for real-time quote screens, charting, portfolio tracking, auto-trading, scripting, expert advisors, stock scanning, alerts, auto trading / robo trading, CRM, payment processing, risk management, PAMM accounts and other advanced features.

The Free Software Distinction

While some software companies wish to withhold potential benefits from their customers in order to maintain a stranglehold on their ability to modify its product, we believe that Free Software is necessary within the finance industry. Paying customers should be free to customize and use purchased software within their company without restrictions. You shouldn't be forced to depend on a third party for bug fixes, new features, or support, though at Modulus, we're always here if you need us.

We want to make it easier to spur innovation. Through Modulus, our clients are able to take a world-class platform and target it to their exact needs. No two users are exactly alike, which means that their needs are not the same. While other providers would force customers to wait until a feature is popular enough to merit development, the Modulus solution allows you to build out our software to better provide for your needs. This is the Free Software Distinction.

Advanced Charting Engine

We asked thousands of traders which charting features and technical indicators they preferred to use in our charting engine. There were lots of valuable feature requests, and we added them all.

M4 features real-time, tick-by-tick charting with High-Low-Close bars, Open-High-Low-Close bars, 2D & 3D Candlestick charts, and optional Renko, Kagi, Three Line Break, Point & Figure, Candle-Volume, Equi-Volume, Shaded Equi-Volume, Heikin Ashi Candlesticks, and other price styles.

You can chart real-time market data; insert buy, sell, or exit symbols; insert text, trend lines, custom images, multiple indicators, and overlay indicators (share scales); display charts with semi-log or linear scaling; print charts; save charts as images; save/load charts to share with other M4 users and more.

M4 features the original financial charting component, first developed in 1997 in C++, and then ported to JavaScript/HTML5. It is used by millions of traders globally.

Modulus charts offer the highest performance of any financial or scientific chart available. That is why NASA chose Modulus to provide scientific charting for the International Space Station.

Also, thanks to our clever programming with a doctype which triggers standards mode and capability to prevent browser extension execution, M4 is the first platform offering multiple external chart windows.

The Original Technical Analysis Indicator Library Since 1997

M4 features over 100 popular technical indicators developed by Modulus, which can be customized with user-defined parameters.

After winning numerous awards from Futures magazine and Stocks & Commodities magazine for speed and accuracy, our indicator library has been continuously updated over the years to support all the latest technical indicators.

Our technical indicators have been validated by their authors whenever possible, so you can be sure the calculations are correct. In fact, many of the technical indicator authors are actually Modulus clients.

Our indicators are highly sought after. In fact, other platform providers have attempted to pirate our formulas in the past, even claiming "first in class" indicators in their own marketing material.

The Modulus Patent Safe Guarantee™

If our software is found to infringe on any patent claim which gives rise to legal action against your company, will we indemnify your company fully against any and all legal claims relating to the infringement.

Modulus takes intellectual property rights seriously. In fact, we spend over one third of our R&D budget on patent research and filings. That's how, after 20 years, we remain an industry leader in an ever-evolving market.

Why is this so important?

The financial technology industry is full of nonpracticing entities (NPE's), also known as patent trolls. While patents may seem to be unfair and seem to stifle innovation, we believe that patents have a proper use. Unfortunately, patents are often abused, especially in the financial technology industry.

Just the act of licensing technology from a company which is violating a patent claim may subject your firm to a patent infringement lawsuit, which is not only very costly, but also quite stressful.

Even most industry insiders don't even understand that trading from a chart is not a wise decision.

Why? Because it is protected under patents 7,113,190 B2, 8,380,611 B2, 8,060,435 B2, 8,041,626 B2, and 7,890,416 B2 (see Chart Trading Development, LLC v. Interactive Brokers, CQG, TradeStation, NinjaTrader, LLC et al).

Yet, all of the trading platform providers which we can identify, as of this writing, are currently offering "trading from the chart" functionality. Some have even disguised the feature as "mouse click trading" or "chart and mouse trading".

Why would technology providers subject their clients to patent infringement?

Either those providers don't know the patents exist or they do not take patent infringement seriously.

NOTE: Infringing on even just one claim is all that's required to bring a patent infringement lawsuit.

  • Are you aware that using market playback may infringe at least one claim of 20130124382 A1?
  • You may also be unaware that drawing a chart pattern template on an actual chart for the purpose of pattern recognition is covered under US8239301 B2.
  • Market Profile and DOM are also protected by patents, as are numerous other industry-specific inventions.
  • Using social media sentiment data for trading the DJIA in a specific manner is also patented.
  • Many types of real-time market data servers are patented by exchanges.

Yes, it's true. Patents are everywhere, and you may be violating a patent simply by running a web server. But in the finance industry, these very specific patents can be veritable landmines for your business.

Our Patent Safe Guarantee™ gives you a piece of mind, as Modulus knows the industry, allowing us to stand behind our products.

While other platform providers are busy infringing upon intellectual property rights, we are constantly innovating, researching, and protecting our intellectual property, to the benefit of our clients.

Modulus is the first and only technology company willing or able to offer this type of guarantee.
